Brothers and Sisters of John Henry Smyth-Blood
Dorothea Juliana Smyth-Blood Christoe was born on 18 September, 1835, at Croissard Cottage, near Corofin, County Clare, Ireland. Dora died on 24 May 1887, in Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia. She was the eldest daughter of Matthew Henry and Marianne Charlotte Smyth-Blood, and the wife of John Penrose Christoe. Dora is buried in the Drayton and Toowoomba Cemetery.
Marianne Smyth-Blood Salter was born on 15 December, 1836, at Croissard Cottage, near Corofin, County Clare, Ireland. She died on 17 August 1925, in North Adelaide, South Australia. Marianne was the second daughter of Matthew Henry and Marianne Charlotte Smyth-Blood, and the wife of William Thomas Salter.
Dr. Matthew Henry Smyth-Blood was born on 4 August, 1838, at Croissard Cottage, near Corofin, County Clare, Ireland. He died on 13 June, 1875, aged 36, at sea en route from Ireland to Australia, having previously returned to Ireland from South Australia to complete his medical training. Matthew was the eldest son of Matthew Henry and Marianne Smyth-Blood, and did not marry. He is buried in the Blood Family plot, in the Kapunda Pioneer Cemetery.
William Frederick Smyth-Blood was born on 1 December, 1839, at Springfield, near Corofin, County Clare, Ireland. He died on 31 March, 1905, in Orange, New South Wales, Australia. William was the second son of Matthew Henry and Marianne Charlotte Smyth-Blood. He did not use the name Smyth-Blood, but instead used only Blood. He married twice; his first wife was Emily Louise Holman, and his second wife was Margaret Alicia Shiel. He is buried at Cadia, in New South Wales, as is Emily Holman Blood, and their infant daughter Dora Annie.
Susannah Smyth-Blood ("Susan") was born on 11 December, 1842, at Springfield, near Corofin, County Clare, Ireland. Susan died on 8 January 1906, at Kapunda, South Australia. Susan did not marry; she was the third daughter of Matthew Henry and Marianne Charlotte Smyth-Blood. She is buried in the Blood Family plot, in the Kapunda Pioneer Cemetery.
Frederica Frances Maria Ann Smyth-Blood ("Freddie") was born on 12 March, 1847, at Springfield, near Corofin, County Clare, Ireland. She died on 19 April 1903, at Kapunda, South Australia. Freddie did not marry; she was the fourth daughter of Matthew Henry and Marianne Charlotte Smyth-Blood. She is buried in the Blood Family plot, in the Kapunda Pioneer Cemetery.
Elizabeth Charlotte Katherine Smyth-Blood Pitcher ("Kate") was born on 30 September, 1848, at Kapunda, South Australia, and died on 20 July 1870, at Kapunda, South Australia. Kate was the fifth daughter of Matthew Henry and Marianne Charlotte Smyth-Blood, and wife of John Garlick Pitcher. She is buried in the Blood Family plot, in the Kapunda Pioneer Cemetery.
Mary Bagot Smyth-Blood Galloway was born on 11 September, 1851, at Kapunda, South Australia, and died on 23 June 1933, at Hawthorn, South Australia. Mary Bagot was the sixth daughter of Matthew Henry and Marianne Charlotte Smyth-Blood, and wife of James Galloway. She is buried in the Mitcham Cemetery.
