Matthew Henry was born on 26 November, 1806, in County Limerick, Ireland, and died on 29 March, 1883, at Kapunda, South Australia. He was a Doctor of Medicine, and the first Mayor of Kapunda.
Marianne (or Mary Anne) Charlotte Blood was born on 4 April, 1816, at Applevale, County Clare, Ireland, and died on 2 January, 1900, at Kapunda, South Australia. She was the daughter of William Blood ("Willie the Skelper", 25 Feb 1784 - 21 Jan 1831), of Applevale, Co. Clare, Ireland.
Matthew Henry and Marianne Charlotte were third cousins once removed, both being descended from Thomas Blood (1640-1726) and his wife, Davis (first name unknown). They are buried in the Pioneer Cemetery at Kapunda.
